Omer Ahmed – Two Poems

Omer Ahmed (Pronouns: He/Him) is an educator, writer, and performer. He explores the intersectionality of identity as well as blackness through divinity, which yields to his writing style. Omer is a National Poetry Slam semi-finalist for Houston’s Write About Now 2018 slam team. He is proud to have placed 5th in the nation with his team. He has also been published in the Jan 2020 edition of The Penn Review. Omer currently works for Writers in the Schools and hopes to expand his love of writing to further audiences, with a high focus on the youth.
